Kilkenny City

Kilkenny City is known as the ‘Medievel Capital of Ireland’.

Kilkenny Castle is very well maintained and houses a fabulous collection of art on its walls. The city also offers St. Canice’s Cathedral, Rothe House.

There are walking tours available from the Tourist Office where you will be guided by a local historian around the narrow streets and laneways.

Kilkenny is also know for its host of craft companies boasting such names as Rudolf Heltzel Gold and Silversmith, Mosse’s Pottery, Jackson Pottery and Jerpoint Glass Studio.

Within the Kilkenny Design Centre there are some studios where you can see the artists at work.
