Dublin by Train

Thurles is the nearest train station to Cashel, located just 15 miles away. Trains pass through this station every hour enroute to Dublin.

Some of the trains are express and travelling time is 1hour 10minutes. This makes the journey to Dublin very comfortable and relaxing.

Arriving in Heuston Station you can then get a taxi, bus or the Luas (the new tram line which is fast and efficient) to the city centre. The day is yours, the most popular visits in Dublin are Trinity College to see the Book of Kells, Christ Church Cathedral which is the finest example of Gothic Architecture in Dublin. Saint Patrick’s Cathedral, again Gothic, where Jonathan Swift, author of Gullivers Travels was once the dean and there he rests as his crypt is in the Cathedral.

There are many tours of the city, the most convenient being the Hop-on-Hop-off city tour as you can take in the sites at your own pace.

There is also a Pub Tour available to be booked from the tourist office in Suffolk Street.

You can travel to Dublin, enjoy a full day sightseeing and/or shopping and return to Cashel in time for a gourmet dinner in Legends Restaurant.
