Waterford City Tour
Waterford is located in the Sunny South East of Ireland,
it is known as the Crystal County and is a bustling maritime
county with a historic heart, attractive fishing villages
and developing seaside resorts.
The city itself offers Reginalds Tower, standing on the site
for over a thousand years, protecting the quay of Waterford.
Here Strongbow met Aoife, the daughter of Dermot McMurrough,
King of Leinster, and their subsequent marriage was to change
forever the course of Irish History.
The Waterford Treasures offer a good tour of Waterford down
through the ages, this is hosted in the same building as the
tourist office on the quays. There is also a very good walking
tour of the city, tour participation can be organised through
the tourist office.
Waterford Crystal Factory offers a tour of the actual factory
where you see the cutters and blowers. You can also purchase
a piece and watch your name being cut into it.
The Vee & Coastal Drive Depart Cashel and travel through
the Norman Town of Clonmel to the spectacular Vee Valley Drive
offering fabulous views of Tipperary County on one side of
the mountain view and Waterford County on the other side.
Continue into Lismore Town, dominated by Lismore Castle located
in the town centre. This is a picturesque town, take some
time to stroll through the narrow streets. Travel back to
Tipperary on another route taking you through the fishing
village of Dungarvan with its fishing port.
